Adopt A Highway - Kraft

Kraft Family YMCA

In response to growing public concern about trash and debris along North Carolina’s roadways, the N.C. Department of Transportation established its Adopt-a-Highway program in 1988. Since then, thousands of volunteers have not only helped reduce litter but also saved North Carolina’s taxpayers millions of dollars annually in roadside cleanup costs. With more than 120,000 participants across North Carolina, Adopt-A-Highway is made up of civic and community groups — including schools, religious, professional and social organizations — as well as individuals and families. We will meet at the Kraft YMCA branch parking lot and a YMCA bus will take all volunteers to the cleanup location nearby and volunteers will work to cleanup the area.

8921 Holly Springs Rd. Apex, NC 27539

Our goal is to engage our community in this volunteer program to remove litter from roadsides, keeps debris and pollutants out of our waterways and helps educate the public about the importance of proper trash disposal.
