Alexander Family YMCA
Camp Excel is a eight-week summer day camp that is fully subsidized by donations to the YMCA's Annual Campaign. Camp Excel is open to students and siblings currently enrolled in Y Learning programs. Through the YMCA's partnership with Wake County Public Schools, each child will receive a snack and a warm, nutritious meal every day. Every child will also receive swim lessons twice a week through our Y Splash program. At Camp Excel children can choose their activities. This summer camp offers arts and crafts, dance and sports like football, basketball, hockey and soccer. Rising kindergartners will focus on kindergarten readiness. Children in grades 1 - 5 will spend two hours per day engaged in activities to improve math skills and literacy. All children will be working with certified teachers. Volunteers will be helping with these parts of camp: Setting up games with our Activities Pro Setting up and facilitating crafts and activities with our STEAM Pro Helping facilitate education activities with our teachers Helping counselors/leadership staff with day-to-day activities
