Southeast Raleigh YMCA

The southeast Raleigh YMCA is partnering with Wake County Public Schools, Southeast Raleigh Elementary (Club ROAR) and Rise Charter (Club SOAR). Southeast Raleigh Elementary is connected to Southeast Raleigh Promise organization; Raleigh/Wake County’s first Purpose Built Community and the 16th network member in the country. Adopted by 28 network members, Purpose Built Communities believe that fostering well-resourced and connected neighborhoods is the key to ending the cycle of poverty and creating ladders of equitable opportunities for individuals, families, and children to fully thrive. RISE is a free, public charter school located in Raleigh, North Carolina that provides its scholars with a rigorous academic program and a community built on the school’s core values of Resilience, Integrity, Scholarship, and Excellence. Volunteers will be coming to the branch and school to provide experience related to the club that the participant choose (S.T.E.A.M.E/A) Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Exercise/Activity).
