YMCA Camp Sea Gull/Seafarer
In keeping with the mission of the YMCA and Camps Sea Gull and Seafarer, a weekend volunteer member assists the directors in running safe and fun programs that are focused on character and skill development. Furthermore, weekend volunteers will ensure the safety and wellbeing of the participants in their care. Volunteers will assist staff in supervising and facilitating assigned weekend activity including, but not limited to: Creative Arts, Archery, Riflery, Canoeing, Swimming, and helping in the Dining Hall. Volunteers are expected to help provide an environment of physical, mental and spiritual safety for all participants. Volunteers must be 16 years of age unless they are volunteering with a parent. Volunteers should arrive on Friday afternoon or early evening to check in and get settled in staff housing (bring sheets for a twin bed or a sleeping bag, towels, toiletries, etc.). Typical day is breakfast at 8am, activities 9am-12:30pm, lunch at 1pm then rest period, then activities open again 2:30-5:30pm, dinner at 6pm then evening activities may require some volunteers to work in the evenings.
