Taylor Family YMCA
Camp Blazing Trails is a unique half-day camp that focuses on respect for the environment and the great outdoors. Activities may include hiking, fishing, canoeing and educational sessions with a park ranger. Operated by the Taylor Family YMCA, Camp Blazing Trails is a fully outdoor camp open to rising grade 1 through rising grade 8 located at Crabtree Park, 1400 Aviation Pkwy, Morrisville, NC. Camp hours are 8:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. M - F, rain or shine. Volunteers must be 14 (rising grade 9 or older). Volunteers should be comfortable working in a fully outdoor environment and be prepared to work in the sun, rain and dirt. We ask that volunteers commit to at least two days a week for two weeks of service. The weeks do not have to be consecutive and may be spread out over the length of the summer. Volunteer shifts will be 9:30 a.m. - noon, M - F at Crabtree Park, 1400 Aviation Pkwy, Morrisville, NC. Possible volunteer task include assisting staff with activity set up and clean up, supply preparation, equipment set up or repair, prepping fishing lines and bait, bead rope cutting, bead sorting, name tag preparation, administrative tasks or other duties as needed.
