Association/YMCA of the Triangle

The YMCA of the Triangle Area YOTA Swim Team is an association-wide team comprised of competitors of all ages and skill levels. YOTA offers opportunities for swimmers of many different levels and abilities. This is a year-round activity that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship and personal achievement. YOTA Swim Team volunteers will have the opportunity to volunteer at swim meets as timers, meet officials, travel trip chaperones, parent advisory committee members and more. Each YOTA swim team volunteer will need to read and agree to the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies before volunteering. If you are not a member of the YOTA swim team, but would like to volunteer, please reach out to one of the contacts listed below for more information regarding the location of the event.

Volunteer opportunities for this project are limited to student's currently enrolled in Cristo Rey High School's Work Study Program. The YMCA is partnering with Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School for a second year. Their students get a high-level, college preparatory education and are acquiring valuable work experience in the process through their work study program. The Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA will host a small group of students who will gain valuable work experience in our membership, youth, aquatics and wellness departments.

This project involves assisting in coaching the younger age group during their daily practice sessions, which take place between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM. This role involves assisting the head coach during the younger age group swim practice from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM daily. Responsibilities include: * Monitoring swimmers' safety and well-being in the water. * Instructing basic swimming techniques and drills as directed. * Keeping swimmers engaged and motivated during practice. * Assisting with equipment setup and organization. Swimming experience is required for this position

Northwest Cary YMCA

YMCA Summer Swim Teams are for kids ages 5 to 18. Swimmers learn the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship and goal setting. Swimmers compete in a series of weeknight and weekend meets during the summer against other YMCA of the Triangle branches. Assistant Swim Coaches help ages 8 and Under - Practice from 6 to 6:50 p.m. An assistant swim coach supports the head coach by helping run practices, guiding swimmers through drills, and offering feedback on technique. They monitor swimmers' progress and provide individualized attention to improve performance. Swim experience is required, and past swim team experience is recommended.
